Testimonials

I was always a reserved child so when I presented my mom with the idea of joining a leadership team at church in the 6th grade she was very supportive. I remember going into my interview so nervous because I had never done anything like it before. Joining the Army of God at New Direction Christian Church was the beginning of my transformation into the God loving and God fearing woman I am today. I am so thankful for this opportunity that Ms. Erica presented. It paved the way for me to build interest in joining many more programs and leadership building activities. I began to serve God through ministry and my community. I walked into that program a timid girl and came out on the other side a confident young lady on fire for God. We learned a lot and I built relationships with individuals that I am still in contact with today even over a decade later. - Mallory Gary

There was a time in my life that I can admit now “I’m a control freak”.  Being Children and Youth Pastor within  a fast pace, urban church with well over 500 young worshippers a weekend.  As Programs began birthing within the ministry Erica Jackson was at the forefront of that movement.   Our worship services had to be over the top and Erica was right there teaching these now newbies how to “Act”.  As a play write we where recipients of that gift. More growth more opportunities to step up and here She grows again birthing a Leadership Training with Army of God.  This weekly program was over the top and very successful,  just the way I like it.  Erica also assisted me with going in surrounding middle schools teaching leadership and character using her gift of Theater.  Erica Jackson’s work ethics are so on point then & now, and for this reason she will always be on my list of people to support and keep an eye on.  - Tony Woodard

When I was coaching the Girl’s Basketball Team at Mitchell High School, even though I thought I was pretty cool for a 60 year old, as hard as I tried, sometimes it was hard for me to connect with those teenagers. There were times when they didn’t want to hear from the ‘daddy’ person. They wanted to talk to someone who was like a ‘mom’, and sometimes like their ‘big sister’.

Enter Erica Jackson. Like the Apostle Paul, Erica became ‘all things’ to our young ladies that she might help save some. You know that someone has made an impression when the girls ask, “Is Erica coming today?” She faithfully met with our girls a couple of times a week that she might help save some. I have no doubt that her presence helped change the lives of some of our players.

I remember the excitement and boldness Erica had as a member of our Evangelism Commission at Mississippi Boulevard when she was just a teenager. Nothing scared her.

Evangelism is not for the weak at heart. It requires a person who has on their resume’ these words, “Here I am Lord, send me.”

I thank God that He sent Erica not only to be a blessing to the girls at Mitchell, but to me also. I have seen her growth as a servant of The Lord, and His people. I believe the best for Erica is still yet to come. “For it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard the blessings God has for them who love Him, and are the called according to His purpose.” I Corinthians 2:9

Blessings to you Erica in all your endeavors!
